Collabs are a dime a dozen these days, so for our very first button-down capsule, we wanted to team up with an independent artist who has a unique perspective. Enter: John Robshaw and his vibrant mix of sophisticated and romantic prints, which typically appear on bedding, furniture, and home decor. His work is used by major interior designers and in celebrity homes. He’s also been featured in Architectural Digest, The World of Interiors, and two Elle Decor covers. It’s not the collaboration anyone expected—and that’s why it was perfect.
John has been traveling for years studying printing methods. In China and India, he learned the block printing and natural indigo dye traditions, which are so prevalent in his work. His textiles mix these Eastern techniques with his modern design sensibility to create a style we knew would work great on our shirts.
“It’s been fun to see how UNTUCKit approaches my prints. It’s great to see my designs used in fashion versus bedding and home decor,” says Robshaw.
So, we worked with John to create three shirts that marry his signature block prints with our breezy cotton-linen material that’s perfect for summer. Two of the shirts share the same ornate, repeated print all over—one in blue and white for a classic look, the other in tonal reds that will pop at any summer occasion. They also have a handy pocket for a more casual look.
The third style features a looser pattern that blends John’s signature floral and paisley patterns grounded in navy for a look that any guy can wear. These styles work at most occasions because the sophisticated patterns elevate the short-sleeve shirt, which is more casual by nature.
“John Robshaw has been a longtime friend of the brand, so this collaboration felt very organic,” says UNTUCKit Founder Chris Riccobono. “We infused Robshaw’s patterns with our short-sleeve shirts just in time for summer travel. I’ll be wearing mine to France with my family.”
The shirts are now available in sizes small through XXXL, as well as Slim and Regular fits, exclusively at UNTUCKit.com, while supplies last.
